Experiment Phantom Area was initially shown in Las Vegas on 15 monitors in a Las Vegas lounge with a fire-pit. The fire-pit is itself refracted in one of the four distinct segments of sampled and simply manipulated imagery embodied in the work, which reflects both artists’ interest in the deceptive use of commercial interiors and in creating a portal into another interpretation of architectural space.
